Year 2 Recycled Owls
Students created a mixed media picture with oil and soft pastels and cut up newspaper to make delightful owls!
Prep & Year 1: Little Owls
Prep and Year 1 students first listened to the story of Little Owl. Little Owl falls from his nest. He wants to discover "woo" he is and tries to be like other Australian animals. He soon realises he is an owl and finds his way back to his mother. Students drew an owl outline, branch, stars and a moon, then tore paper to make owl feathers for their own Little Owl.
Years 3 & 4: Paul Klee-inspired Cat & Bird
Students listened to the fun and colourful story of The Cat and the Bird, based on Paul Klee's painting, Cat & Bird.
They drew their own Klee cat and bird with oil pastel and added colour with food dye wash.

Years 1 & 2: Mosaic Oil Pastel Fruit Bowl
This term Years 1 and 2 students have a Healthy Me focus in the classroom. In conjunction with this in art students enjoyed drawing a fruit bowl with oil pastels and then decorating the bowl with colourful paper tiles in a patterned design.
Year 6 Non-dominant Hand Portraits
Year 6 students drew portraits of each other this week using their non-dominant hand. Letting go of control and accepting imperfection in their drawings was the aim of this lesson, as well as fun!
