Year 6 Colour Theory Layered Tape Painting
Students alternated paint layers with masking tape to achieve an amazing effect. The colours they had to work with for the layers were as follows: first layer - primary colours, second - one secondary colour with a white tint, third - complementary colours, and fourth - black and white.
Year 4 - 6 Stoneware Clay Beads
Students modeled textured beads and then painted the beads after they had been fired in the kiln. We will be using the beads to make Christmas ornaments.

Prep & Year 1: Pastel Painted Pasta Pattern Picture
First we discussed patterns and read about City Patterns. Students had fun gluing their pasta patterns onto a cardboard square, and then painted these with acrylic paint in a pastel colour. We discussed the art element, VALUE, which refers to the lightness or darkness of a colour. The base paint they used had white added to it. We also had fun trying to say the tongue-twister: pastel painted pasta pattern picture!

Years 5 & 6 Cityscape Monoprint

Students first painted their background in a dye wash. The following week they painted their buildings on the top half of the paper and then folded it to achieve a print. It was a tricky process getting the paint at just the right consistency with the correct amount of water to achieve a print. Students persevered with wonderful results!
