Year 3 Warm Colour Collage Portrait

Students created fun collage portraits in warm colours by cutting mosaic-like pieces of paper to cover the face and using photo print-out facial features. They added hair cut from specialty papers, also in warm colours.

Year 4 Collage Portraits

Students cut out skin-tone coloured paper pieces to create a collage effect and chose fun facial feature photo printouts to complete their faces. Lastly, animal print paper was used to create imaginative hairstyles!

Year 2 Torn Paper Portraits

We read a fantastic book called All the Colours of the Earth which discusses multiculturalism. Students tore and glued paper to create imaginative portraits!

Year 6 Non-dominant Hand Portraits

Year 6 students drew portraits of each other this week using their non-dominant hand. Letting go of control and accepting imperfection in their drawings was the aim of this lesson, as well as fun! 

 

Welcome to KPS Visual Arts 2016

To assist in my learning all 340 student names at Kerrimuir Primary School, in the first week of term all grades decorated art room table name cards using a variety of drawing materials. This term our learning focus will be on drawing and collage. We're also off to a great start creating fabulous artworks! Pictured here are year 5 and 6 Picasso-inspired abstract cubism portraits created with water-soluble pastels.
